Are those dyed wood or a plastic? It's kind of hard to tell from the photo. Definitely catches your eye!

Todays pic is of blue mammoth tooth set in bloodwood. I really like the color combination on this set.
Anyway, a pic of beautiful wood will help start your day off right. Kinda like a bowl of wheaties. ;)
Enjoy,
Sarge

Yeah, that's okay. URL's have been traced, home addresses have been acquired. Satellite surveillance routes have been frago'd to track daily patterns. Oh yeah, it's okay. Keep it up fella's, it'll ALL be okay.......:D
Thank you. I appreciate the "good" birthday wishes. :p

I check into this thread every day, and I'm in love with those grips over the bloodwood. Both the buffalo horn and the camel bone...

Now to convince the woman to let me spend a little cash...

It seems to be pretty durable, but I have no long term actual use that I can tell you about. It's much like the mammoth tooth - I have questions about it surviving recoil if it comprises the whole grip, but putting it over and in wood makes it stable and there should be no problems with full use.

Believe it or not, this set is made from maple. Mineral stained maple that is. Something that occurs naturally in certain locations. The tree leeches up minerals from the ground in the course of growing that can turn the wood or portions of it, different colors. This really looks alot likek Cherry, but it's not. Cool stuff from nature.

Here's a nice set done in Pheasantwood from Hawaii. Aptly named if you could see it in person - the grain is sharp and closely resembles pheasant feathers. It also comes into sharp focus and then back out as you rotate it under light. A very cool look!
Enjoy,
