Post your ammo/ reloading component sightings!

Today, out wandering about, I was surprised to find that there is some .22 LR and, get this, some 5.56 x 45 ammo out there.
It appears as though the supply is beginning to make inroads on the demand.

Riverdale UT, Sportsman's Warehouse:
Remington 525 round pack of golden bullets, $21.99. One per customer. Damn, I actually stooped to buying some Remington.:mad:
Prvi Partisan 5.56x45 ammo, box of 1000 rounds, $450ish*. One per customer. (* I wasn't buying any, so don't ask me the specifics.)
I was also able to get some .224 bullets and powder appropriate for .223.
They might still have some Promag 30 rd AR mags. $15.99
Impact Guns, Ogden:
Remington .22 also. Only they are $4.50 per 50 round box.
They also just received a big pile of 9 mm of various types. Tula, PMC & UMC I remember clearly. There are probably others as well.
Oh, they got in a crapload of AR 30 rd mags. MagPul & Bushmaster. Prices in the low $20s+/-.

Primers are still pretty thin, unless I needed LR-Mag.

Online shopping is a lovely thing. However it's by no means the best indicator of what's in your local shops.
Hell, I could have just said "Hey, check out Ammo Engine today!" Of course that wouldn't really help anyone on my local area.

I just scored at my local Gander Mountain. As I was weeping at the sight of empty ammo shelves, a flatbed cart was wheeled out loaded with ammo. Included on that cart was the plastic ammo crate full of CCI 22lr they have on "sale".
They were getting the shipments in for their gun sale this week.

Found ammo!

http://www.infowars.com/dhs-purchases-21-6-million-more-rounds-of-ammunition/

The Department of Homeland Security is set to purchase a further 21.6 million rounds of ammunition to add to the 1.6 billion bullets it has already obtained over the course of the last 10 months alone, figures which have stoked concerns that the federal agency is preparing for civil unrest.

A solicitation posted yesterday on the Fed Bid website details how the bullets are required for the DHS Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Artesia, New Mexico.

The solicitation asks for 10 million pistol cartridge .40 caliber 165 Grain, jacketed Hollow point bullets (100 quantities of 100,000 rounds) and 10 million 9mm 115 grain jacketed hollow point bullets (100 quantities of 100,000 rounds).

The document also lists a requirement for 1.6 million pistol cartridge 9mm ball bullets (40 quantities of 40,000 rounds).

An approximation of how many rounds of ammunition the DHS has now secured over the last 10 months stands at around 1.625 billion. In March 2012, ATK announced that they had agreed to provide the DHS with a maximum of 450 million bullets over four years, a story that prompted questions about why the feds were buying ammunition in such large quantities. In September last year, the federal agency purchased a further 200 million bullets.

To put that in perspective, during the height of active battle operations in Iraq, US soldiers used 5.5 million rounds of ammunition a month. Extrapolating the figures, the DHS has purchased enough bullets over the last 10 months to wage a full scale war for almost 30 years.

Was at Sportsman's Warehouse in Albuquerque:

Remington 525 round pack of golden bullets, $23.17, after military discount and tax. Only 1 box per purchase. Questioned on purchasing a box; but, changed mind and purchased that 1 box.

They had some Blazer .45 ACP; but, fired the blazer aluminum rounds, some reason the ones firing were too hot, compared to brass rounds. Decided to pass on them.

They did have some Ruger .22LR rifles.

My local Gander (Cary NC) has plenty of shotgun (picked up a 100 box of target loads for $29.00)... Plenty of Hornady Critical Defense in every handgun caliber (including 9mm Mak..?!?!?)... No plinking ammo and no 22lr.

Since the panic I've been shooting shotgun and archery (my son & I can shoot bows in my back yard) and saving up my money. Been spending more on household, camping and prepper supplies though. I have gotten a LOT better with a hunting slingshot !!
