I work right around 40 hours per week. Overtime is frowned upon as a general rule. We run 24/7 and handing over to the next shift is highly encouraged. But I sure have noticed many of you all work outrageous amounts of hours per week.

50-55+ hours per week. I work 10 hour days Monday-Friday and half a day on Saturday sometimes.

Worst ever was as an attorney for the Office of Chief Counsel - I had a couple 60+ hour workDAYS at that one. Yes, that was 60+ hour days - as in 60 hours straight with no sleep (praise the coffee machine). Average work week was often around 100-120 hours but it would sometimes run up around 128-130 hours in a week. Now, I try to stick with something more reasonable - like 85-95 hours per week.

Im a self employed electrician so I only get paid the hours I put in. I've had 30 hour weeks and I've had 80 hour weeks. I am either buried or slow there never seems to be a middle ground

The last three to four years I average 70 to 80 hours per week. Self employed attorney also and only get paid when I do work! Wouldn't have it any other way!

Anywhere from 37.5 to 60+, nobody ever says poo about my overtime, they just keep telling me to do more! I will have 15+ this week alone. I also have a small business that can add another 20 to 30 hours. I blog on here about 10 hours a week but that pays like crap!

Sadly, Ive never earned more than I do today but I seem to have less to show for it every paycheck in spite of that...

Salaried. Some weeks 30 hours, some weeks 60. I set my schedule- and as long as the work is taken car of, boss does not care. When traveling, longer days than others- but it averages out to about 45 a week.

Longest hours? Company Commander, Basic Training Company. You were there when the troops rolled out of the rack, there when you tucked them in at night. 6 months of that is approaching burnout.

I am a stupidvisor at a large tire plant,, 24/7 schedule, rotating days, average 42 paid hours a week but I get there an hour early to get inventories, set schedule, etc. which is considered part of the job, I have worked up to 3 months without a day off,, no fun at all. Longest single time on the clock,, discounting military service,, went on the clock 6:30 a.m. on a Sunday,, punched out on a Thursday,,, west Texas oilfields,, I was alot younger then.

My "official" work week is 37.5 hours. I usually end up putting in a few extra, unpaid, hours every week (5 or 6). Occasionally I will get about 8 to 10 hours of actual paid overtime.

Your schedules would KILL me. Where I work, they discourage overtime. They want you to pass off any work you have going to the next shift.

It seems like it would be cheaper to hire another person or two than to pay all that overtime.

Im salary and average 46-50 hrs a week in the off season and in the in season approx 4 months I put in 50-55 per week . No overtime :( kinda sucks but they do pay me well and provide a company vehicle and pay for my fuel that I can use for personal use as that is part of my salary and if I need or want time off I take what ever I need .
