Well just got laid off and doesn't look like I'll be going back.
Anybody have any suggestions for a small business to start.
Willing to try just about anything (that's legal). Probably have my wife get involved also, really need to get something going, with a daughter in college and one will be following in a couple of years.
    Thanks

Chimney cleaning can be lucrative, furnace duct cleaning too. Every septic pumper I know seems to be as busy as they want to be. Guess it depends on where you're at.

    Two things are always needed.
Car sales people cuz every A$$ needs a saddle, or
    undertaker.

Now on a serious note, check lawn service or a cleaning service. Get a couple of commercial contracts.

    Where are you located?

I am starting into network marketing for an essential oils company named doTerra. dōTERRA

Many years ago I tried a NM business and because of the horrible experience I swore NEVER AGAIN, any way shape or form, would I consider Network Marketing.

This is different, I was introduced to Essential Oils at a conference in the beginning of August this year. I have suffered from chronic lower back pain for nearly 40 years due to a back injury suffered in a sledding accident when I was a kid. My pain was at about a 5 on a daily basis 24 hours a day, sometimes spiking to 10 when I would be laid up and couldn't get off the floor. This cute gal rubbed some Oil on my back and I the pain immediately started to go away. By that afternoon I was felling better than I had for many years. No joke, this stuff was a miracle for me. I immediately bought whatever she recommended, including some herbal and Essential Oil supplements (like vitamins) that I have been taking daily (this takes care of 90% of the pain now and I can always use the oils if I start to feel pain during the day.)

I never intended to get into the network marketing end of it, I was just going to buy the stuff retail and leave it at that. Thing is I can't stop telling people about how great I feel since starting to use this stuff and then they want to try it. This stuff sells itself, all you have to do is get people to try it out. It works on migraines, it helps with diabetes, it helps with just about anything that might ail you.

PM me if you want to hear more.

At the moment that was part of it, any time a cute gal rubs any kind of oil on my back (for free!) it's gonna make me feel better. But that part wore off pretty danged quickly. This stuff really works!

I'd be all for partnering this if you're in SW or Central Ohio or Kentucky!

How handy are you? Woodworking, metal working, general handyman. What are you good at?
This is not a joke. I recently found out what a good hot dog stand at events or a good location in a city makes and it is mind blowing. I was totally in the wrong line of work.

A retired friend makes a killing by having lemonade stands at festivals. Little push around carts run by 4 college kids.

yeah it's amazing what a little thing like lemonade will make. I read an article not long ago on a brand new millionaire entrepreneur. Guess what his business was? Picking up dog poop.

What are your skills? Right now, everybody and their brother is trying to make money on the side to make up for lost wages; you need to pick something you have an edge in. Do you like home repair, pets, children? Do you have a garage or home workspace that you could convert? Did you bartend during college? Do you have a degree that could get you an adjunct teaching spot at a local school? Do you have any startup capital?
