oh geez, not this question again. you could have googled, browsed the 2000 other threads on this subject and found the answer to your question faster than it took you to post the question here.

however, the answer is no, it'll be fine. it's the loading and unloading of the magazine that weakens the spring.

    +1

    100%

    Agreed.

And it takes a lot of unloading/loading to really hurt it.

    Let's see-dog, final net hairspray(better than pepper),

    bright flashlight, baseball bat.

Two alternatives here: 1) is get an extra set of springs, assuming your shotgun has a tube magazine,
or 2) get a Box Magazine Fed semi-autio. I have both now(mag fed Catamount Fury II) and a Tube Fed SA-20(20 Ga version of the Mossberg 920-930-series)....

It's fine. We keep em loaded like that for years bouncing around in units and never have problems.

(Well at least not damaged springs. Our problems usually stem from idiots dropping things down the barrel. How do you "accidentally" drop a fricking chicken wing down the barrel of a shotgun?! But that's a whole different thread.)

Not good bud. Just keep your doors locked, cell phones handy to call 911, and shotgun handier.

I grew up in what is now considered a "bad Area," the North Eastern part of the Bronx, just north of the Bronx Zoo. In the 60's when I was a youngster it was wonderful,..but I saw it change in the 80's when I came back from active duty. Now you can't go there without an escort(was there in April, but my friend driving me around is retired NYPD....) your better to get out when you can...

Sorry to hear. Keep doors locked. Keep an awareness of what is around you at all times. If you and your wife do not have CCW permits,..carry pepper spray or a pepper blaster, and if your strong enough to use it, some type of telescoping baton. Get an ultra sonic barrier-beam motion alarm,.or at least a door alarm for your front door.
Long story shortened: Dad was a fed. Younger brother and I were both musicians at the time. One of his"friends" decided to rip us off for our music gear. My brother was out. Person decided to try and drill out the lock on our front door. They never finished because even before I could get a pair of pants on my Mom goes to the front door and announces that she is a cops widow and has a 38 pointed at where she thought his BALLS were. All you heard we're two perps taking off who didn't want some old lady shooting them....
