I got a Remington R1 and wondered if anyone has had any luck with any specific brands of Hollow point ammo? I tried the "Zombie" rounds which had fairly rounded shape and they had multiple jams. This gun loves all brands of FMJ; but I would hope it might shoot some type of hollow point for SD purposes. Has anyone found a specific brand of HPs that has worked for them with this gun.

By the way, I am wondering if part of the problem were the Remy mags. Both started failing to lock the pistol open after the last round with FMJs. This was after shooting 200 rounds. I took the springs out of the mags when I got home and slightly stretched them; but have not been able to get back to the range to see if that fixes the problem. I plan on getting some McCormack or Wilson Combat 47Ds soon; as I have heard they are much better mags.

Got a Chip McCormick magazine yesterday. Will try that one next time at the ranger and see how it works. I will definitely try the Golden Saber rounds; if I can find them. Ammo is very scarce around these parts lately. People are buying all types of ammo by the gross; in fears that ammo will be made illegal. It is ridiculous.
By the way, the slide stop is not coming out; I believe it has to be the cheap mags. I want to get some Wilson Combat mags when I return from my upcoming deployment.
