I bought a Ruger MkII today- my first .22 pistol.

The salesman at the store told me that ALL .22 semi's have a max cap of ten rounds. Is this true? I know that because .22 is a rimmed cartridge, this poses some stacking limitations. Is it impossible to have a staggered mag with .22 rimfire?

Are there any .22 semi's that have a higher capacity than 10 rds?
If so, can anyone give examples...

    Thanks

Ruger Charger. It uses the same magazines as the Ruger 10/22 and they make magazines larger than 10 rounds that are commonly available.

trip: wow haven't seen that one before. 30 rds in a pistol- that's neat!
I think I'm gonna have to add that to my "wish list"...

No, not having to do with any law. The guy was explaining to me that because of the dimensions of the .22lr, and the fact that it is a rimmed cartridge, that it was impossible to straight stack any more than 10 rounds in a magazine. He was saying that more than 10, and the mag would have to have a curve to it. I'm starting to think that it really just has to do with pistol grip length and aesthetics.

I'm thinking of maybe steering my wife in the direction of that one.

I guess what I'm wondering is:

Is there something like that Kel-Tec PMR-30... but in .22lr?

Well there's the ruger charger and 10/22 that can accept Hi cap mags. But something more in the traditional auto pistol style, like the kel tec? No Idea.

The s&w model 22a-1 comes with 2 12 round mags. I would suspect your state has a limit on may capacity.

I've heard that's really a pretty decent gun, do you know anything about it? Price says it better be good.

Somebody on here has one in 9mm, i bleve. I think it is BigShrek. The owner had a good report, but the thing can't be light, and the ammo weight is up high and would seem awkward to me.

I would ABSOLUTELY love to try out one or two. I think the .22LR rifle/carbine model would be hellacious for squirrels.
