I finally aquired some time to do a little shooting today. I just got my 1911 back from the gunsmith getting customized and and have only put about 50 rounds in it since i bought it a couple of months ago. Today i used small basic bullseye paper targets and some pepper poppers.. I used 200 grain speer gold dot Jhp and shot 2 paper targets, one 8 round magazine per target from 20yds.

My 2nd mag from 20yds.. On the 6th round i shot far right and felt myself throw it as soon a i squeezed the trigger.. I then shot the poppers and did fairly well but thought i should have done better. I fired 48 rounds total and the gun performed like a dream with no malfunctions. The 1911 is alot different than shooting my Glock 31 down to the POA so ive got some practicing to do. I know tht i shot acceptable to CLEET standards, i thought tht i did well but not my personal best. Practice practice practice

Thank you sir, i didnt take any pics of the poppers just for the simple fact tht u cant tell where i hit them .. I had 4 poppers set up side by side 8" in diameter each, i shot a total of 32 rounds at them from the same 20yds and missed a total of 6 times

Now be careful with the 1911a1. Too much can cause 1911itis. The symptoms include adding more 1911's to the safe, emptying the savings account to by the latest 1911, having magazines in the "library" that have the 1911 on the cover, and getting your house number changed to read "1911".

Good shooting and welcome to the club.
