I realized with the TS, I could take the sight bridge off without removing the cover. The rings I bought didn't work, but I found a spare high set that "just" barely worked with the 3rd scope I tried. It's as close to the bore as it can be, and the eye position is acceptable to boot.

I gave the barrel a good cleaning, and put on the sling.

Went through my 9mm stash. I have some Hornady American Gunner 124gr XTP I really want to try. The plan is to use some 124gr FMJ to get it sighted in, then do (5) 5-shot groups off the lead sled and bench at 100 yards.

I put on the trigger pull gauge. It's pulling at 6.5lbs to 7lbs., but feels much smoother than before.

I just read the tip on blue loctite. I'm not sure if I can get it done before tomorrow. If I can, I will.

Range report in a nutshell: average of (5) 5-shot groups with 124gr Hornady XTP was 2.92" at 100 yards.
And just think Fox. Gun snobs and some dealers trash these things because they are made by Hi Point and are cheap to buy. Those High End PC Carbines will not really do any better than what you just got. Including an AR version!

When you do the screws. Do one at a time. I had one of the plates come off. That the screws go into. Had to take the gun appart to reattach it.
I just finished taking the scope off, and loctiting the bolts. Thanks for the heads up! The screws were maybe 5 to 10 in-lb tight. They wouldn't have taken many more shots to loosen up. I didn't go crazy tightening them back up. Maybe 15 in-lb.

I bought my 44 mag used, but "like new" for a great price. Less than 1 box of ammo through it. When I went to mount a scope on it, the rail wiggled under my fingers. I smiled, loctited it, and it shot well. I have to think the loose rail had something to do with the low price :)

View attachment 212846 Rifle came back today in brand new condition, upgraded to the TS stock, extra magazine, sling and studs, etc. Zero charge, freakin' amazing service! I'm pretty excited to put some rounds through it. Notice the "x"'s in the replaced column. This rifle won't be going in the burial vault after all...
Wow , they replaced damn near everything on that rifle .... Thats incredible.

$120 used, the factory is going across it, and I could get my money back out in a heartbeat if I don't like it (and it's cheap enough to bury). I haven't even shot it yet, and I'm excited.

My kids are learning to shoot, and I can see this being something my 11 y.o. would dig. Ditto with my wife. Her handgun skills are a bit lacking, but if she can see where's she's putting 9mm on target - I think she'd be more confident in a HD situation.

Not certain I understand this. You have a HiPoint 995. Correct. Picked this up on your other thread.
Does it not have any receiver on it? Or do you just have a bunch of parts and want to make a 995?

Sounds like he is trying to get a serial number, so that he can get Hi-Point to replace the receiver for free, but if this is the part with the serial number, it is considered the gun, and Hi-Point cant just give him a gun for free, or sell him a gun...can they?

If he had a destroyed 995 with a serial number, they would rebuild or give him a new one with same SN as I understand the warranty. I really hope this is not the case here.

First I only want to. use the Gun
I can NOT register the gun without the receiver. Hi Point said they would GIVE ME A NEW ONE IF I HAD AN OLD ONE.
I do not care about that I just want the gun to work old receiver or New. that is why Iwas looking for a GEN 1 so I could use it and register it without Hi Point.
Gen 1 and Gen 2 Hi Point said they are the same. but every time i try to. buy one the bids go higher than a new gun. I was on the HI Point forum one day and asked a guy what he wanted for his and the next day the Forum Banned me ? never got the answer.

OK. This is more informative and makes better sense to me. :) I wish you luck finding one.

Thank You
I am about ready to give up.. Hi Point support said. I it is hard to do. and because I sent the whole gun to them when I got it for them to give me the OK to put together, The guy I bought it said I voided the return Policy... Like Hi Point was. going to steal parts fro it.
He knew I was stuck and found out the SCAM. Why would anyone buy a Parts Gun when the parts from Hi Point are FREE.
