Looks like it's UMC prduced .43 Spanish. Google turns up a little info, but nothing overly useful.

Wow, so you're saying that they're a UMC produced .43 Spanish?

That's surprising. I'm amazed that no one else came up with that.

Remington made the rifles and UMC made the ammo for half or more of the world. There was a time when Paraguay and Uruguay were fighting a war, and both nations had civil rebellions going on at the same time. All four sides were fighting with Remington rifles and UMC ammo.
