The russian government set out for a new pistol with higher capacity, more reliable and with a higher rate of fire than the duty side arm. The markarov is being replaced with something called a strizh produced by Arsenal. This may be just what arsenal needed to keep them out of bankruptcy. From what ive read it is similarp to glock g-17. Chamber in 9mm it is able to hold up to 30 rounds and has the ability to go from single action to full auto with the flip of a switch. Ill post pics i just found this interesting, if anyone has heard of the us producing a new military firearm please fill me in i want a new toy

It's longer, wider, heavier and holds 3 less rounds than a than a Glock 17/18 with an extended mag.

It bet it would have been more cost effective to just adopt the Glock, but then there's that Rusky pride thing.

The Russians are smart enough to keep their manufacturing base.

I like 9mm and all but I wish they would have made this thing in a 357sig or 10mm or something a little more kicka$$...otherwise everyone would probably just get the Glock because who wants to take the gamble on some new gun that does what Glock already does, only it's 30 rounds instead 33 (Glock). I appreciate the effort of putting a new gun idea out there, I just think they made a mistake on the caliber ('cause its been done).
