hexagonal barrel

    So,

    I'm curious as to why the rifling in Glock barrels is hexagonal (and not grooved), instead of traditional rifling.

    A quick browsing at glockworld shows replacement barrels with traditional rifling (and the dude with the barrel replacement video clip seemed to 'poo-poo' the glock standard barrels).

    I've no intentions of swapping barrels, just doing some wondering instead of sleeping. Gotta have my coffee in the morning.....

    H&K uses a similar rifling in their pistols. They claim that it allows for greater accuracy and muzzle velocities by not gouging the bullet as much.
