Ok. Since I've gotten a USB for my digital, I can now upload pics of my pieces in case y'all may be wondering or just curious.

Here's my one and only Rock Island Armory 1911 .45 ACP:

My home defense setup starring my 1911 .45 (of course):

This is my simple setup for when I may have to relocate due to zombies and such:

This is my Carry/Conceal weapon and home defense backup (FEG PA63 in 9x18mm Makarov):

Enjoy and feel free to post some of your favorite toys.

Sgt-Miller, very nice!

One question, how's your home defense capabilities with empty clips? Maybe show the invader the bling and while blinded, crack him on the forehead with the 1911?

Just kidding!!!!

Very nice!! The .45 will leave no doubt as to who is in charge! :)

Thanks.:cool::cool:

Oh yeah. In case anyone may be curious. The magazines I have for my 1911 are ACT-MAG (x2), Kimber 8-Round with the TAC-MAG Slam Pads (x2), and Kimber STI 10-Round (x2).

Since there are a myriad of 1911 magazines out there, I figured I'd let y'all know what I got in case you are interested in getting the same. So far, the magazines fit/feed correctly with no issues. I will let you know if any problems occur as time goes.

SGT-MILLER,

I had to check the bed room for my RIA as my full size looks exactly like yours. I love the Hogue rubber grips. I have a second set on the 'Little Rock' compact.

Leprechan,

Where you are you are surrounded by the finest weapons in the world.

Eventually I need to get a nice shotgun to round out the group...lol.

First I'm going to get more mags for the PA63, and maybe I'm going to get an extended slide release for the 1911. Any good suggestions for that?

Wilson Combat Extended Slide Release;

I really like mine. Makes thumb release much easier. I needed to fit it to the Colt, not a drop in, but well worth the effort.

Thanks for the info. I'll look into it. What did you have to do to fit the slide release in? I didn't think there was too much of a difference in the measurements between different 1911s as far as the slide release pin goes.

You should post some pics of those Colts you have (unless you did already in another thread and I missed it...lol).

I needed to take the pin diameter down a tad. It went into my Defender and with the alloy receiver I didn't want an excessively tight fit. I also polished the interface with the mag follower. (Just to speed up break-in)

You will find it a great addition to the Rock.

I never have to be asked twice!!!!

My 1911 group from my arsenal; L to R is Dad's 1911 A1 Ithaca, XSE & my mouse gun. Notice the Defender has the sights removed, she's going in next week for refinishing. I will post her up again when she gets back home. Her stocks are covered in Canebrake (Timber) Rattle Snake. XSE stocks are real stag.

Don't tell anyone, but here's my G22;

The carry rig is my own personal rig. I am not allowed to open carry in uniform. I was in uniform because I just got off duty.

It would be a different military if all the military members were allowed to open carry on a daily basis (no one would get into arguments...lol).
