A guy has offered to sell me his Mini 14 but it is missing the entire trigger assembly. I want to make him a fair offer but have no idea what it will cost to put the rifle back together. Can any of you folks help? Thanks

You can buy a trigger assembly parts at Brownells and Numrich.

I would look at used rifle prices in a similar condition to the one he's offering you to get a base price of what it would be going for in a similar condition with all the parts. Figure the cost of the parts and subtract that from the value of the gun if it were whole and offer him that. The last thing you want to do is get it for "a good deal" and then spend so much in parts that you could have just bought a) a good, used rifle in working condition or b) a brand new rifle. The Mini's aren't that expensive relatively speaking. You can get 'em at Walmart all day long for $700 OTD. I'd say $500 with all parts and everything is about the most I would spend.

How much are you paying? I would not give more than $300 for it because you are not positive if there are other parts missing or the gun is 'bubba gunsmith ' up real bad. Where is the trigger? Even if he messed up the sears, they can be replaced.

I would buy it, but it would have to be a smoking good price.

I would make a low ball offer like $50. If worse comes to worse you can strip the rest of the parts and sell them.
