Both are great guns. I like the Colt but the DW is a better value if both are LIGHTLY used. You will find that DW is a great pistol. Unfortunately there prices went up a couple of years ago and I'm not sure in my opinion if it was worth it. seems quality went up but I don't think the small bit of quality was worth the 300-400 dollar increase. Still they make a great gun. Colt speaks for itself.

I would opt for the DW.
I am not too fond of the Colt Series-80 setup and DW does not have it.

Ah just the guy i need. Cane..would those sights be ok for competition?
OK, yes.......good, no they aren't adjustable.

For competition I'd want a Bomar Style adjustable sight.

Why would you want to competitively shoot a 10mm?

I would think you would want a Gold Cup running light target loads.

Some competitions (USPSA and IPSC) have a power factor.
The .38Super is not the best for inexperienced reloaders.
The 10mm can be reloaded at a lower power factor than commercial (and still make "Major" power factor) and the platform allows an additional round over the .45.

In competition, that extra round can make a difference.

Ive been using a eaa 10mm for a few years and thought it was time to upgrade.
What sights are on your EAA?

Makes sense. Guess my lack of competition shooting is showing.
