Here we go
Springfield EMP 9MM Compact 1911
Sig P239 9MM
Go on over to the Introductions and Introduce yourself and let everyone know a little about yourself and what you are looking for. I am sure you will get plenty of suggestions. More in Favor of the 1911. I am a new 1911 owner and believe you can't go wrong with that.
Welcome aboard. If these are your two choices, I'd personally get the EMP. But get whichever one fits you best.
I had an EMP and loved it. Never had that model Sig.
That's a Chevy / Ford question. Everyone will have an opinion, some will tell horror stories about one and tell how the other can part the seas. My truth is, they are both quality pieces and I would be comfortable with either. Pick the one you like best and move forward with it.
I say the EMP only because I want one.
I have the emp9. If that would have been my first gun I would not have had to purchase any others. Absolutely love it. Fun to shoot and very accurate. Good Luck!
I would go with the EMP, I find single action semi-autos a lot easier to shoot accurately than DA/SA guns and I love the 1911 design. Don't get me wrong, Sigs are great and a 220 is on my wish list, but I just prefer a single action pistol.
You're looking at two high quality weapons, I don't think either of them will let you down. Handle both and see which one fits you best, if at all possible try to fire them.
Shoot em both and decided what one fits you the best.
