You need to be more specific- they go back over 100 years. WHICH ONE?

Looks like a Marlin Mdl. 778 shotgun. On a good day $175 dollars. On most days $125 dollars.:)

Let me pose a question for you. If you can find a barrel it will be at least $100 used. Why spend $100 on a $150 gun? You are real close to the price of a new Mossberg 500.

Marlin made one great shotgun, the bolt action goose gun. You can win enough turkeys, hams and other assorted prizes with the thing it will pay for itself before you die. Even the bolt action goose gun can be had very cheap. I have a goose gun myself. I have won an 18 wheeler load of stuff with it at benefit shooting matches.

Thats true i suppose. It is kind of a cheapy gun. I need to find a decent gun for hunting season. Even the new mossberg 500 feels kinda cheap.

There are a lot of guns that cost a lot more than a Mossberg 500 that wish they were as reliable. If you decide to buy any new shotgun put it together so you are sure that everything lines up before you accept it. QC is not what it should be for any gun company.

I have Mossberg 500's that I have had for over 20 years that I bought used. I shoot skeet with a 20 ga 500. I used to shoot a lot of skeet. I would shoot 400 rounds every weekend with a mossberg 500. The only parts that wore out were the interrupter and the shell stop.

That is not a Marlin Premier Mark I French built shotgun. The Mark I made in France for Marlin in the mid 1950s had above average wood and finish. They are some what scarce but not expensive. I think Marlin only made about 3,500 28" 12 Ga. guns. In X-Lent condition they go for around $250 bucks.:)

I think the old mossberg 500 are 10x stronger made guns then the ones that come out now. The wood and metal just feels cheaper on the new ones. I'm kinda holdin out for an older one
