Well, I was cleaning my dads 1911 and this spring and washer thing came out. Where the hell does it go? Its a .22 by the way. I watched like 8 videos and nobody mentioned it. I cleaned it a few months ago now I don't remember where it goes. My dads not even sure!!!! ImageUploadedByFirearms Talk1391382618.453141.jpg ImageUploadedByFirearms Talk1391382644.487534.jpg

It looks like a GSG 1911 22. Hard to find an exploded view. geesh... you think this thing was a war-time secret.

Edited to Add: These must be the extra parts installed at the factory.
    Everything seems to have them.

That is exactly what gun it is, I have a GSG 1911, but I do not recognize that spring and bushing.

Doggone thing looks like a washer and spring out of a Delta faucet.

Yeah, gsg 1911 22. I saw an exploded view and they weren't there! I put it together without it and it functions fine. I haven't shot it yet though. My dad want to find out where they go though

ok, here is where I can help. They go in the cigar box at the back of the shelf, above the fired shotgun hulls and unused holsters.

Could be...the GSG uses a plastic guide rod and the washer is meant to keep the spring from chewing pieces out of it during recoil. The gun will cycle without it but any stray bits of plastic may eventually foul the action.

Beastmode, I went about this in a scientific manner. Based on the exceptional disassembled photo posted by Jpyle, the only round spring in the entire parts kit is the guide rod spring. I am unable to tell the exact size of your small piece of spring, but it is either broken off the end of the original guide rod spring, or it a secondary buffer spring that sits inside of the primary guide rod spring. It is rare to see them snap completely off, but it has happened!

I believe MisterMcCool might be right that the washer is to protect the end of the guide rod from spring dig/damage.

The circular part, if it's a ring then it looks like the part that fits on the guide rod, before you install the suide rod spring.

The small spring looks like it's may be part of the mag catch, but you would have to be doing a complete dis-assembly to need to remove that.

Well my dad shot it today, said it jammed a few times and to release the mag the hammer had to be back? This is weird. I put the washer on the guide rod but I have no clue where that spring goes.
