I am considering my next purchase. Already have an XD 45, Colt 1911, Colt All America 2000 and other revolvers. I have found a used CZ 75B for $369 with one mag. A used SW9VE with 4 mags. for 359. A EAA witness for $199.
Which of these would be a better choice or should I go another way. Thanks for any feedback. Newbe to this forum.

Welcome to the Forum - While I am tempted to say take the EAA for the $199 price tag, I honestly think the CZ-75 is a much better pistol and bargain.

The guys will be along shortly to give you their thoughts....

I say take the CZ and Run Forrest....

Hold on there. I may be a CZ fanatic..but the EAA Witness for 199?

It's basically a CZ Copy...actually it IS a CZ copy and pretty darn good.

Now for me I'd get the CZ 75...BUT if the Witness is down right good 199 bucks is nothing to laugh at and is a pretty good deal.

My favorite witness is the .45 10 shot one.

If you don't grab the Witness at that price let me know where it is, I'll take it. Even if it is older the company is very much alive and well. Parts and magazines are still available.

I would agree Robo, but depending on the model, there are MIM parts in there from BUL in Israel and that is NOT what you want in a 1911.

That's a good price, but there is a strong possibility that is a used EAA, with MIM parts, that has been shooting +P, for the manly factor, and could be completely ready for a failure.

Then again, it could of been a Safe Queen and it could be a screaming deal.

We need pictures...

That's a good price for a CZ75B, even if it's missing one mag. Replacement mags are about $30.00.

My vote is for the CZ75B

I have two EAA .45 pistols, both bought new, in the all steel Wonder finish. One is a compact, one a full size. Between the two I have had seven frame and slide cracks (compact- four frame cracks and one slide crack, full size- one frame and one slide crack). These happened at low round counts, approximately 3000 rounds shooting standard velocity 185 grain ammo. There were also corrosion issues with the Wonder finish necessitating hard chroming of the pistols. EAA replaced the compact's slide under their warranty but refused to do anything with the other frames and slide, saying the hard-chroming voided their warranty. While they were fun to shoot and were quite accurate, their failure at a low round count and poor customer service were unacceptable.

Also having a CZ-75 (I have the compact) I would have to agree with some of the above posters about buying the CZ-75. It's a great pistol- accurate, reliable and feels great in the hand. Good luck.

best wishes- oldandslow

If the $369 tag don't hurt in your pocket, buy the CZ... the EAA (Tanfoglio) is the copy of a CZ, and the price it's too tempting... but only if you aren't making an effort to pay for it... if your budget have other priorities go for the EAA for sure.... in here the Tanfoglios are very popular, specially the Force 99... I don't heard any complaint so far....
