I am new to this site, and so far it has been very informative. I have owned firearms all my life, but have just recently started to conceal carry here in Georgia. I am still trying to get comfortable with it. I have a .40 S&W Sigma, and I carry on the hip. I have been considering trying a shoulder holster. Any suggestions as to brands or if that isn't even a good idea would be great.....Nice to talk to you all.

Welcome to the Forum -

CC is partially dependent on the person and partially on the environment. I haven't been to your part of the country, so I don't know what your Fall/Winters are like.

I have tried several shoulder rigs and my current is the Miami Classic from Galco. It was the same one Sonny Crockett wore on the Miami Vice TV series and I love it, though I did opt for the larger shoulder straps. Fits like a glove and balances my 1911 and two spares very well.

Living in Washington State, it rains from about October until about April, so having a heavier coat on, I never have to worry about it, plus I have kind of a large frame, so the horizontal carry doesn't "print" when I have my jacket on.

Definitely worth a look if you can bear wearing a larger overshirt or coat hile carrying. It wouldn't be worth a damn in Miami, which is odd considering it's name and original appeal, but in cold climates it's great.

US Galco has a ton of options though - check them out and see what you think.
