NY State bill to require liability insurance as condition of gun ownership

    http://www.examiner.com/article/ny-...ility-insurance-as-condition-of-gun-ownership

A bill was introduced in the State Assembly by Felix Ortiz (D-Brooklyn) that would require citizens of New York to acquire liability insurance as a condition to gun ownership.

Bill S2353 will require all gun owners in NY to obtain and "continuously maintain" insurance coverage of at least $1 million, or they will suffer "immediate revocation of such owner's registration, license and any other privilege to own" a firearm.

If the citizen fails to obtain the insurance, then by simply owning the firearm, they will be in violation of the law.

This bill was introduced by Assemblyman Ortiz as an amendment to the current NY State Insurance Law.

Dude they do need to put their foot down. You only let the government treat you the way you let them. A million for insurance is overkill and they should say **** that and stand up and do something about it.

you are looking at the last gasp desperate efforts of the gun control movement. They are pulling out all the stops on the national stage ... NY just happened to be the first salvo in the fight ... other states will follow

But just as NY and others will push relentlessly for their insane agenda other states will balance it out with pro gun agendas. History and facts are on the side of gun owners ... gun control advocates have nothing other than irrational emotions

Ortiz is a clueless idiot from New York City trying to make a name for himself by sucking up to Bloomberg. As much noise as he makes, in the current climate here in NY, he's a few notches down on the list of what are our biggest issues at this time. Regardless, it sucks big time...

New Yorkers Second Amendment rights have been shredded. CO is poised to pass serious gun control this year. CT will pass more feel good gun control this year: Like they need with the draconian gun control that is law there. Look for gun control to pass in MD, CA, WA and maybe OR.

"Its for the children" say the anti-gun blissninnies. Never mind the idiots have no intention of enforcing existing guns laws. Our VP, Joe the Idiot, said as much.

I truly believe that you cannot free a people, they have to free themselves. And if the people of a state lets these anti-gun/anti-rights **** happen they get what they deserve. Some states may be a total loss but most are not if the people act fast.

Sooner we get this thing started and over with the sooner we can get our government back and get our self free from this oppression that's taken over our Country. Kind of like getting a bad tooth pulled, you don't look forward to it, it's going to hurt but in the long run it's all for the better.

Since the passage of the NY Safe Act numerous local legislatures have passed amendments/ordinariness demanding it's repeal. Bloomberg may have conned Cuomo and Albany to go along with the Dem's Socialist agenda but many small towns and counties outside of NYC will not comply.

The spark has been set ... the powder keg is burning ... all my hopes and blessings to our brothers and sisters fighting the fight in NY
