I got a win 94 and I got a idea running around my head after seeing buffalo bore has 190gr bullet load for 30-30 and I was thinking if it's possible to load 220 grain rn bullets and what type of data could I get in velocity and energy from it I'm not going to try it till I know if it's possible safe and if I can gain anything from it

I doubt that a bullet that heavy would stabilize in a .30-30bore. Even if it did, velocity would be so low no expansion would occur.

Ya that's true I was just thinking if i could get it to work with good velocity and energy that would be a good hog thumper not saying a 170 wouldn't do the job but it would penetrate a little deeper
180 is the heaviest load I can find data for. Rate of twist is not likely to stabilize a bullet as long as the 220 grain. .308 has same problem. If the bullet is yawing sideways at impact, penetration will not be good. Leave a hell of a bruise, tho.
They would not feed thru the action. If you loaded them single-shot they could easily cause very high pressures in your gun.
So in other words don't try to fix what ain't broke right.
