    Homesteader: Broadly defined, homesteading is a lifestyle of simple self-sufficiency.
    The term may apply to anyone who follows the back-to-the-land movement by adopting a sustainable, self-sufficient lifestyle.

    I am hoping to find like minded people in Harrison Co, IN (or surrounding communities) that wants to get together ,somewhat regularly, to disscuss personal projects and help others in their community that want to do the same.

    Also to help the influx of younger people that might not have the hands on skills and experience that some of the older generations have.

    Some topics;
    Finding and treating water sources
    Sulf-sufficient gardening and farming
    Alternate energy
    Working none electric tools
    basic structures and shelters
    Root-cellars
    Canning and preserving food
    Animal ( meat ) prep
    Hunting, trapping, and Fishing
    There are endless amounts of topics....

    Other things might include;
    Wilderness Survival
    Firearm and/or weapon manipulation
    Land navigation
    Alternate means of transportation
    Alternate means of communication ( ham, short-wave, CB )
    just to mention a few..........

    This is going to be a disscussion group with hope of being able to do some community outreach in the future..

    LOL You wanna start a survivalist cult with a remote compound, declare yourself leader, and institute polygamy. Sounds great!

    Seriously, sounds like useful fun -- good luck.

    Lol. To reiterate, this is to be a discussion group... So if who ever comes wants to talk about that, then more power to them.
