This can be considered a very special day in the annals of firearms history - the 100 year anniversary of a true legend.

No greater design, nor lineage of excellence can compare. The 1911 will forever be the standard by which all others are judged.

Thank God for John Moses Browning!

Happy Birthday to you, you magnificent marvel of wonderous safety, comfort and capable destruction!!

    *much love*

Not much to add, except that I'm glad I'm a member of the 1911 sect. ;)

Oh yes! 100 years and still strong! Glad I am in the club, and this year may give me a reason to add a third to the family! :D

I only have one true 1911, that is in 45 ACP, just purchased 1 1/2 weeks ago. I have had a Kimber Rimfire 1911 for 8 years though.

I guess the 100 anniversary was a good time to get one :)

I used to have a good one that was a little spin off Psalm 23 I think

"Walking through the Valley of the Shadow of Death I shall fear no evil for I carry the baddest pistol in the valley" and the picture was a US Army Operator with a 1911 on his hip headed towards some door he was about to kick open. I can't find it though. :(

I traded my AR-15 for a Springfield 1911-A1 2 days ago, on the 100th anniversary. The is my first 1911, I'm even more proud of this acquisition knowing what the date was.
