    Hi folks,

I'm a military man and have been shooting since I was 13. Started with .22 T-bolt and went all the way to 84mm Recoilless rifle (anti-tank). But my military experience has been in rifles/machineguns.

    As a civillian, I own a Rutger Charger .22, a SIG P226 9mm and STI .45ACP.
My Rutger has bipod and crosshair sights which my company's shooting club does not permit in competitions.

Thus the question: I need a .22LR pistol for "standard" competition - target shooting.
Would you (price difference being 20euro/30USD so it is no consideration) choose a Hammerli X ESSE or a Browning Buckmark Bullseye Target?

I'm not one for "reputations" but for operational efficiency, accuracy, ease of maintenance.

Please share your thoughts and the reasons.

    Thanks.

Someone wants to trade me a browning buckmark micro 4" for my Taurus PT-22 so i looked up a few videos on youtube and my consensus is , Its a great gun , tactical solutions makes threse trick barrels for the buckmark which substantially lighten the overal weight of the pistol , fluted barrels. very accurate , the only downside I saw watching all the video's about the buckmark micro was field stripping . IT CANNOT BE DONE IN THE FIELD! First off you need tools to take it down , second it has a few loose parts that come out when field stripping screw flanges , spring pack bushings. and you cant get a cleaning rod throug the rear of the barrel even with the slide off because of the rear lug that gets in the way so you then have to take the barrel off to clean it . its just a really involved take down HOWEVER if that doesn't scare you then the browning looks like a really well made gun. just my .02 dont know about the other .22LR you listed

The Hammerli should eat the Buckmark for lunch...

The ONLY American pistol MFR to ever win Olympic Gold was High Standard of Connecticut.
Buckmark ain't even close to winning in the EU circles, much less Olympics.
