Half stripped receiver threads On my Ruger 1022

    Don't know how I did it but when I took the scope off today to tighten it so it wouldn't wobble i decided to do a full cleaning of the firearm After all that was done and started to put the scope rings back on I noticed one of the screws wouldn't tighten Upon further inspection I found out that It was stripped halfway down Just curious how much a gunsmith would charge me to fix this

    I have no idea where the found out came from I still don't know how much it would cost to fix that

    These were custom scope rings designed to allow you to see the iron sites even with the scope on it And they screw Directly into the receiver

    Pretty cheap -- there's nothing much to it. Gotta drill the "custom" (common see-thru) scope mount to match. Could do it all yourself with a cheap tap if ya knew how...

    Taps are dirt cheap. Really easy to do!!
