I am considering gunsmithing as a career once I get out of the Army. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good Gunsmithing school. Not an online course, but an actual school. I still have all of my Post 9/11 GI Bill, so financing should not be a problem. I appreciate any responses.

There's one in Colorado, one in California (lassen community college) and one elsewhere. If I'm not mistaken, theres a student for the Colorado one here.

Look at the one in Colorado. The son of a friend is attending that one and I am impressed with what he has learned there.

Correspondent/on-line courses are not worth the time or the cost. This is a total-immersion-learning profession.

Here's a (by no means complete) gunsmithing school list with no recommendations. You will need to do your own research. Let us know what you decide.

I'm suprised you didn't mention AGI. I know a few gunsmiths that have gone through AGI and are doing well. As a matter of fact I'm getting ready to start working to being a gunsmith and I was going to go with AGI.

    AGI is a "How-To" videos in-home course.

That's the one. Connected with Brownells, opens more doors after graduation.

Does anybody know of any gunsmiths that are doing pretty well by doing it as almost a side job? Reason im askin is im considering doing it as a side job and watching dvds and videos on it an i just dont want it to be a complete waste of time and money
