Gun value and info?

Hey guys, I have recently aquirred a handgun from a relative that I believe is a Luger. I'm not sure if i'm in the right place to ask this but I'm wanting to know what it is worth and what it's history is, as in, when it was manufactured and where it may have been in use.
Any direction for this info would be greatly appreciated.
