My bf and I are wanting to open a gun shop starting out with online sales then opening a store in about a year. I need a good name to create an LLC first. I like patriotic names, or maybe a name that incorporates our 2 names - Amy and Keith....I thought about the radio call signs Alpha Kilo Guns/Arms....any ideas are greatly appreciated. I am having a mental block!

AK arms? There has to be better than that.

Welcome to the forum. Stop by the introductions and tell us a bit about yourself.

That should get some smiles or customers wondering what's going on here and coming in to have a look.

ya know OP ATF lists all the FFLs on their website...

uh soooo you're planning on incorporating first -- then apply for your FFL?

Thanks to everyone who has helped so far with serious ideas haha. I do completition BBQ and its called Barking Irons BBQ - what about Barking Irons? There is a clothing company called that though. Id really like something with our names but simple or patriotic as other choices.

Good trade names are hard to come by as most are already taken. Not knowing where you are located, which can have an influence on the trade name you want, makes it harder. What part of the market share are you going to target??

We would really have a variety of guns, hunting rifles, shotguns, handguns, some assault style....just a variety. People here look for everything. We are in Southern VA.

So you are not going to target any specific segment, just general firearms sales. The internet can be a challenge when you have sites like bud's guns to compete with. I have found it very hard, as a small dealer, to compete with the BIG stores and the internet so I do mostly training, not sales. To get the trade name I wanted I had to misspell the word 'precision'. My trade/business name is Percision Ballistics.
