I'm thinking about buying a small camera like the go pro and mounting it on my guns when I go hunting. What are some options that people have used? I'm worried about recoil damaging the unit, also I want something affordable, but can withstand the elements. Ideas?

I would try a go pro. You can mount it on anything and should easily take the recoil. It is light weight and completely waterproof. I got one for when I go riding the dirt bike and it has seen the elements plenty. They are fairly cost effective as well. I got mine off of amazon used and it is not the new one or the 1080p but it gets the job done and would easily be clear enough for hunting. If you plan on carrying it, I would look elsewhere due to it not having a zoom. But it should work well mounted to a gun or a bow.

I have 2 Contour cameras and like them a lot. You can mount them anywhere. They are very sleek and the picture quality is great.

I'll bet it still works fine, just not for you.
