I just bought my first concealed carry gun. I bought a Glock 26 (as you can see in the picture). I am excited to have it! Now time to get accessories...

I am thinking of ordering a Glock cleaning mat from
    Glock gun cleaning mat

The specs say that it will not be damaged by solvents. It is made from neoprene, so I imagine it would be fairly tough.

Have any of you used one of these for cleaning your gun on? If so please let me know what you think about it and how it holds up to the chemicals. Thanks!

i used to have gunmats they work fine but i just use lint-free red or white cotton shop towels from walmart nowadays. when they start leaving lint i toss em. they work well as gun cleaning rags too. i lay down two or three under the gun parts stops things from rolling around.

They are very durable. Brownells and others also sell the same type mats. I use them in my LE armorer schools and they are great! I would recommend getting one. Nice pistol! You can also get a magazine extension that adds one additional round as well as support for the old pinky finger! I have one on my model 27.

Inexpensive mats, like to use in the kitchen by the sink work well. They don't let stuff soak through, don't leave lint, most have nubbies to keep round parts from rolling, and are big enough to work on.
