Does anyone know about the gsg 1911's? I bought one and haven't shot it yet but I'd like to know what people think of the company's product.

No personal experience with them. Just read quite a few owners' reviews & they seem to like them. If they ever come out with a lightweight commander model, I'd buy it.

You don't need a lightweight. Except for the barrel, it's all aluminum, including the slide. Light as a feather.

Mine will be a year old this March.I would recommend this model to anyone who likes to shoot a 22. I have over 3000 rds of blazer through mine without a problem. It has the feel of the original 1911 in 45ACP but is a lot cheaper to shoot and is very easy to fieldstrip for cleaning. Best regards Dick

The GSG 1911 is my favorite .22 plinker. The GSG weighs in at about the same weight as a standard 1911 .45 ACP. Most 1911 add on parts fit the GSG grips, mag wells sights etc. They have a steel mag that is great compared to many of the new plastic mags. They fit the Black Hawk 1911 holsters and others. They are not Aluminum but some form of zinc casting. They are all so sold as SIG 1911 .22s.:)

Now if the product turned out to be a POS based on other's opinions, what would you do with it?

I love my GSG. Great price for a .22 and helps with practicing with a pistol with great weight.
