picked up a GSG 5 1st anniversary this weekend , looks like a neat little gun, wondering if any body on here has any experiences with them . did a lot of reading on them and they seem to be a pretty good gun after the first batch . bought a collapsible stock and a red dot for it , planning on shooting pin shoots with it , got 5 magazines with it , used for $425

I've shot a couple, one was. Super accurate and one was meh on accuracy but both functioned very well until dirty.

I've got pretty much the same gun, 522SD with the same collapsible stock and the metal receiver, (the composite receiver weighs about a pound less).
I had some FTEs right out of the box but after clean and lube it now shoots whatever you feed it with no issues whatsoever. The stock sight is a bit tough for distance accuracy. Either use a red dot or swap out to the HK sight. Good luck with it.

have had some issues with it , tightened all the bolts on it , got the better bolt kit and the buffer all going on this weekend , to dam cold to go outside , but shot a full mag through it last week end with no problems so it is getting better . mine is very accurate and a ball to shoot , I put a red dot on it , 3/8/14 just to update I shot a match with this yesterday with no problems so it might just be a keeper after all

Been looking at these at LGS. Is the stock adjustable or fully extended or fully retrscted?

I got one a few years ago, and still take it shooting often.

I use it when getting noobs into the shooting sports.

It loves CCI mini mags, as well as Aguila Super Extra. Anything else, and I get a fail to fire every several rounds, no matter what.

20916: is yours a GSG, or an HK by Walther? AFAICS, the only difference is 3 rounds in the magazine(22 Vs 25) and the better quality of the Walther, like all,of their 22LR replicas, but the GSG also takes a 110 rd. Drum...

GSG. I just recently got a conversion kit, making it the pre lawsuit version.

HK would've been nice, but hard to find in Northern Cali. Even if I could've found one it would've cost me waaaaay too much up here.

Roger that. Wife wants one. But she has a shopping list of Guns SHE wants...a lot of them. But I just showed her the CDNNSPORTS 22 add in SGN, and she sees that WE can get 3 22's for under a grand...

    I have the pistol version.

Nothing but good things to say about the gun other than lack of .22 ammo.

I shot it for about 5 years and never cleaned it, shirt of running a bore snake down the barrel occasionally.
Never had any issues with the gun.

Obviously it's not practical, I have a 597 for hunting, but as a range toy I love it.

Actually I do have one caveat.
The magazine follower bolts through the magazine. I had the nut fall out in the woods one day.

Lock tite it, or keep an eye on it.
