Hi all! I know virtually nothing about firearms, other than what I learned in Boy Scouts many years ago. I've been considering exploring my home defense options, so I'm going to look around a bit and see what I can learn!

Welcome anyway, I guess. Shotguns are a good choice for basic home defense. You can pick up a Mossberg 500 or Remington 870 for a decent price.
