Not if you like hunting deer. Southern deer are the size of dogs. We are originally from Ohio were they are a bit larger. Target shooting is a bit better. There is an outdoor pistol, shotgun, and bow range on Post and an indoor pistol and subgun range off Post who's owners also have a 500 yard outdoor range. Life is good.
You might be surprised. Back years ago deer numbers were really low and a large number of deer from Wisconsin were imported into Georgia. The deer in Georgia are a good bit bigger than most of the states surrounding it. They aren't quite as big as up north, since they have been bred down. Where I live your average spike buck weighs 140lbs or so and mature bucks average around 200lbs. My dad has 4 bucks on his wall that were over 200lbs with the highest being 265lbs. Hell, our average does are bigger than a good-sized Florida buck.

The problem with Georgia isn't so much with the number. It's more with the land available. The population of Georgia has exploded in the last few years and so many rich boys were complaining about deer eating their flowers that they raised the limit to 12.
