I am desperate to find some war movies, preferably world war 2. I have seen the obvious, private ryan, band of brother, the pacific, the pianist, pretty much all the , modern ones. I never want to run out of war movies to watch. Also include some Clint Eastwood ones if you can!

"The Big Red One" is one of my favorites. Also "The Cain Mutiny" and the original "Sahara. Both Humphrey Bogart. "Midway" is pretty good too.

Band Of Brothers would be my choice of an accurate portrayal of WWII. That said my uncle was a decorated combat Capt. of WWII. He thought Saving Private Ryan was great. :)

    Almost forgot...

I have to add 2 more recommendations... Although these are set around WW2, they are not combat movies... But rather they show the other side of war... The homefront & war's aftermath. The first is "Since you Went Away" starring Joseph Cotten & Claudette Colbert; [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWrKMV07-5Y[/ame]
I tell you, they don't make women like her anymore!! If I were a war pilot, I'd paint her image on the nose of my plane!!
The second is "Best Years of our Lives" with Fredric March, Myrna Loy and Dana Andrews; [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3EsNKlB7os[/ame]
Both great movies from the Hollywood Golden age!!

And not WW2, but a great movie- Breaker Morant. Gotta love Rule 303!

You mentioned The Pianist, so I'm presuming you saw Schindler's List.

I'll second The Big Red One and Midway.

If you're looking for something other than action:

Paper Clips is an interesting documentary regarding the Holocaust and a school project.

Life is Beautiful. The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas. The original Diary of Anne Frank, although the new one is OK.

History Channel did a decent series called Patton 360. And there's always WWII in HD documentary.
