    Sorry, Linky no worky.

Your post says Washington Post and your link is to Washington Times.

Link or no link, do you actually believe this?

Obama, his regime and the MSM have never told the truth about anything, now when they give you something you want to hear, they have miraculously become tellers of the truth? The MSM has suddenly turned to actual reporting the news instead of manipulating and manufacturing it?

Sorry, this is BS and the Smell is overwhelming.

I don't understand why both parties want to attack payday lending. Yes, payday lenders do take advantage of people with low incomes and/or poor credit. What is the alternative? A loan shark that charges 50% per week interest?

Banks are actually worse than payday lenders. Overdraft protection $35 per $100 you are overdrawn. If you have a line of credit attached to your checking account banks charge a healthy service fee if you need to use that line of credit. A contractor I know had to use a line of credit to make payroll. The bank charged him $6 on the hundred as a service fee. One would be better off to get a 90 day personal loan.

Some pay day lenders charge way more interest than a loan shark and many of the interests rates are flat out illegal. Don't go thinking they are good guys. If the government had not forced banks to loan to people who couldn't pay it back, the housing bubble would never have happened. You can thank Barney
Frank and the like for that. Putting a poor person in debt is not the way to help them.

This is one element of the DOJ's involvement in government actions that are intended to affect Second Amendment restrictions. Quoting the article: "The FDIC has been helping the Department of Justice run “Operation Choke Point,” which is intended to combat online fraud by cutting off fraudsters’ access to payment systems..." Is it a coincidence that the legitimate businesses happen to be involved with production and sale of firearms related products? Holder's position on restricting Second Amendment rights is no mystery. The administrations early attempts with Fast and Furious gave us a clear view of where he intends to take the DOJ on this issue.

Payday lenders may be sleazy, but if what they are doing isn't illegal there shouldn't be government action taken against them.

In the 80's when the abortion debate was exploding and homosexuals came out of the closet, the Dems started screaming about how the government shouldn't "legislate morality". A lie of course since we have laws on the books about theft and murder.

Still, I find it ironic that the anti-busybody stance of the Dems over the last 30 years has suddenly shifted now that they are in power.

As far as I know no one is required to use payday lenders. I don't condone the practice but the truth is, those who use their services are paying for the high risk and, the default on payday loans is very high. Just like insurance, everyone pays higher rates due to increased risk in the insurance pool due to reckless drivers. If someone finds it necessary to use the service they should be aware of the terms and, if they don't like them don't use the service.
