I've been home for 2 weeks today due to gout in my lower leg/foot. With heavy doses of steroids, I'm walking agAin and should be back at work Thursday though I'm still in pain. It's gotten worse over the last few years. It used to hit about once in 18 months but it's gotten to the point of a severe attack every three months. The docs say they've never seen a case this bad and are finally hooking me up with arthritis specialist. I've tried drugs, gone holistic with black cherry extracts, and Apple cider vinegar but nothing seems to help. How about it? Anybody here dealing with gout? Any tips? I've had open heart surgery, and I swear, this is much worse.
