    Redneck mouse trap.

This is the best mousetrap ever...

Use a 5 gal. bucket with a gal. of RV antifreeze dumped in the
bottom, a plastic pop bottle with a welding rod thru it and some
peanut butter on the middle of the bottle.

Lean a board (2x4) up against the side and it works all year
without checking it and no smell.

    I love rednecks, as

they are the most ingenious group of people I have ever seen.

No Smell! Easy clean up with a set of BBQ grill thongs and a Walmart
plastic bag to hold the dead carcasses. Mark the level with a black Sharpie
and fill as needed over time from evaporation.

I love the mouse trap! You reckon it would work with a couple of beer cans instead of a Coke bottle? :D

Looks good. I will have to remember this when my mouse trap gets too slow. My wife has a cat that aint worth anything, but my 13 year old dog showed us last Oct that she can still catch a mouse. When we seen the mouse in the yard, we pointed it out to the dogs, knowing that the 6 year old was closer and could see it and would get the mouse. The old blind dog was on it and done with it before the pup had a chance.

    Mice are notorious drunkards.

Regarding cats "playing" with mice: I bought a white mouse for a cat I had in college. The cat ended up keeping it as a pet for about a week before the mouse wised up and split. It was really weird to see them both eating from the same bowl. That cat was always a little strange.

Antifreeze crystallizes in the kidney's and in trying to flush it out it shreds the medulla of the kidney causing excruciating pain and suffering. The kidneys can't function and the animal dies. I don't like rats or mice. But this is disgusting. Promoting cruelty to animals any animal just makes me sick.

Don't you think they would drown before their kidneys failed?

Don't use antifreeze. Its not necessary as they will drown first as "gello said. Plain water. Also your cat or dog might drink the antifreeze and die.

I have used this type of trap with great success for years. They work better than the snap-traps do.

Skunky beer seems like a good compromise; let them go out with a buzz.
