Cruz was discussing his belief that after the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, politicians used the opportunity to "try to exploit and push their political agenda of gun control."

Calling it like it is. None of the proposed legislation would have done squat to prevent Sandy Hook or any of the recent or past spree killings.
