Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), a freshman Congressmen, appeared on Fox News Sunday and said he did not support most new gun control legislation because "it is unconstitutional."

Cruz was discussing his belief that after the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, politicians used the opportunity to "try to exploit and push their political agenda of gun control." Cruz said he would not back an assault weapons ban or a ban on high capacity magazines.

We traded up. The luke warm Kay Bailey Hutchison retired and we got the conservative, Tea Party favorite, Ted Cruz.

Calling it like it is. None of the proposed legislation would have done squat to prevent Sandy Hook or any of the recent or past spree killings.

Glad to see someone finally identified this as naked partisan politicking.

I saw a blurp on the news this morning. There was a Senator from I believe North Dakota that said the proposed bans were way over the top and didn't see them passing. And she was a democrat!!

The antis just love it when some crazy commits an atrocity. They then "dance in the blood" of the victims to advance their agenda. Make no mistake what that agenda is. More than one anti-gun senator has stated in years past that their ultimate goal is to disarm civilians.
