That is not a bad deal. $6.13/100 with a box. I have not seen it at our local WM. Brownells has 40g MM for $5.99 with free shipping over $99 code DSR but no box.

I am hearing of similar deals here in NC. It takes a while for all walmart stores to receive their orders. I have a $100 bill in my wallet waiting for the minute I see such a deal.

I've seen the 550 round Federal "Value Pack" bulk boxes of copper plated hollow points for $21.97 from time to time. If you buy 3 that equates to 1,650 rounds for just $65.91. A much better deal.

Better deal if your guns likes it and you like it. CCI is cleaner and tends to be more reliable for most people. If the cheaper ammo was always the best deal why would people pay $12 a box for match grade 22lr ammo. Not a sermon just a thought

The federal value packs are $18.97 in this area. The winchesters are over $21.

Because none of it is in the same class as bulk ammo. All of the bulk ammo is manufactured under the same manufacturing methods and machines, at very high production rates. CCI, Remington "Golden Bullets", Federal "Value Packs", Winchester "555" Packs are all similar. If they weren't they wouldn't sell so cheaply for all around the same price. What makes the prices vary, is the amount stores purchase in one order, not because of any quality improvements over each other. That's why Wal-Mart and Cabela's usually have the best sale prices on it.

All of the high priced .22 Match ammunition is manufactured under much tighter controls to much closer tolerances. It is also measured and checked accordingly with more time spend on quality control. That is what makes it cost so much more. If a standard $200.00 .22 likes one brand of bulk ammo over another, it isn't because that particular ammo is better manufactured. It just happens to agree with it. I have a $1,000.00 S&W Model 41 that won't reliability cycle Eley Tenex, but will Federal 550 Round Value pack. It isn't because the Federal is "better" ammo.

OK I think you missed the point there. What you said is correct about match ammo but what I was implying was that just because the Fed is Cheaper than the CCI doesn't mean its a better deal.
