So g22 or p226? What do you guys think? Looking for a .40 full size. Am also interested in the beretta 96a1.

When I was making that choice, I bought an m&p. But the sig was a close second

Whatever fits your hand the best, whatever feels good in your hands and if you had the opportunity to shoot both, whichever you shoot best.

All things being equal, though, definitely the Sig.

I have both Sigs and Glocks I prefer Sigs in a major way. The only plus I have for my glock is I don't care about jamming it between the seats or tossing it in a glove box. Sig Sauers are a work of art. I consider Sigs my sports car where the glock is my beater work truck.

Yea but is sig really worth the premium price or is it just "the cool kid" on the block right now. Shot a glock growing up and it was a great gun never saw it fail once.

I think I get my Sig obsession because after my dads department switched from S&W revolvers they went to Sigs. Everyone I have ever shot is a great gun. Price is up there but I think they are worth it and most of them will hold value if you take care of them. That being said I have both Glocks and Sigs and they both have their purposes.

Sigs are great guns. I'm not much of a Glock fan, never felt good in my hand.

I would also recommend looking at the S&W M&P.

Best thing to do is hold each one and see what feels good in your hand, even better if you can find a range that rents them and take each for a "test drive".

The Sig 250 and SP2022 are the only model of Sig's that should be comparable to a Glock. All other Sig's far out class it. The 250 is closer than the Sp2022. I feel the SP2022 is a better gun. I do own both a Sp2022 and Glock 22.

I've owned both and currently still have my SIGs. Great rep, quality and support, they are a bit pricey but you get what you pay for.

Can't knock Glocks but if I had to choose I prefer SIG.

Of those two, I would go with the Sig. I think Sig Sauer makes a better gun

I like both. If you get hung up on frame material then the Sig may be the choice. For me the higher bore axis and longer trigger reach makes me have to think about how I shoot a Sig. They are excellent guns. I do shoot them well. The Glock with its striker fired system seems to just be more natural to me for practical consistent shooting than drawing, shooting double action and then going to single action. Then remembering the decocker before I holster. Not a huge deal, but I just straighten my trigger finger on a Glock and it is ready to go back in a holster.

Again, I like my Sig a lot. I just shoot a Glock better in practical shooting. This may not be the same for everyone. I have found both guns to be excellent in reliability and accuracy. I have experienced Glock customer service, because I brought a police trade in to the factory for a once over by one if their armorers. I walked out 30 minutes later with the gun pretty much entirely overhauled for free. I haven't used Sig CS.

I don't think you'd go wrong with either pistol. Just try them and pick the one that fits best or that you shoot best.

This is more than just an opinion, it's sound advisement, and it placed first. That said, I agree with the opinion as well. Sig isn't beatable as far as I'm concerned. I hate their prices and could never justify the purchase of one, but that's based on personal allowances and guidelines.

My suggestion is find a place that will let you rent handguns to shoot. One of the ranges near me has that option and a decent selection. Might be worth the few bucks to shoot both of the ones your looking at and see which one feels the best. I'd rather spend a few more bucks up front and get something I like instead of hating it and selling it later.

I find my Sig P226 to feel large and thick in my medium-small hand, whereas my Glock 19 Gen 4 feels great.
If you're looking in this type of gun, try out a Walther P99 - I LOVE that gun - best feel in my hand ever!

That makes sense since a p226 is a full sized pistol and a G19 is a compact. For my medium sized hands I went with a SIG P229 E2 series grips. It fits literally like a glove. I am finally getting comfortable with the trigger to where its finally shooting at where I point it. While considering my new purchase my sister owned a G19, so I had plenty chance to fire it. I am very happy with my choice. Btw, after trigger time with my P229 my sister sold her g19 for a SIG P229 as well.
