I'm wanting to get a good CCW and would like to get either a glock or S&W shield, any in put on witch one is better than the other and which glock would be ideal for CCW would like it to be in 9mm.

The shield is hard to beat for concealed carry ease. It is great gun after a trigger job. The glock 19 would probably be a good option for you, not as easy to conceal but better capacity as well as glock reliability. I'd recommend getting hands on time with either one before you buy. The shield may be difficult to get ahold of.

If concealibility is your main objective (as I assume because you are considering the Shield), I would say Glock 26. The 19 is slightly bigger, however the 26 can take the full-size mags which can be carried as reloads.

The Shield is going to be easier to conceal. The problem with the Glock 26 is that it is still pretty thick.

Personally, I like the Shield and would take it over the Glock 26. However, the Glock 26 does have the option IIRC of using other Glock 9mm magazines. Not to mention standard capacity is better than the Shield.

Either seems like a pretty good choice. If you can do a side-by-side comparison you might find it easier to make a decision.

About the closest Glock would be the G-36 in a .45 ACP caliber.
    G-36 , 6+1 , single stack mags.

S&W SHIELD , 6+1 in the .40 cal and a , 7+1 in the 9mm with the looks of an M&P..! Also single stack..!

I had a G-36 and love it . Not a huge fan of the .40 cal , but both are sweet..!

    Tuff choice , If you don't like , call me ..! :D

I would get a Glock 26. It is a double stack so therefor thicker, but the sub compacts conceal nicely. Get a pinky extension mag and you are good to go.

Trijicons are great. They will run you about 90 bones. The 23 doesn't conceal well, but its a good all around compromise.

After owning several glocks I always wondered why they aren't a $800.00 gun. I think they are way under priced.. Just my two sense.4,5,6 hundred whatever it is still a good price.
