Glock Leg Syndrome to Glock Head Syndrome??

A few days ago I read a online article about a guy very recently who killed himself at a shooting range while disassembling or reassembling his Glock. Did anyone else catch that article? How the heck did/could that happen?

Well obviously the gun did it. My guess is the gun hoped up on the bench put a mag in itself. Worked the slide, and pulled it's own trigger. At least that is what I heard on Sunday night football.
Damm. I didn't think stuff like that really happened.
P.s- wasn't doubting it at all just wanted to read.
Guns don't just "go off". This guy made a safety mistake and paid with his life. Sad story, but only one person to blame.
Always ALWAYS check the chamber!!
It takes 3 seconds and aparently it will save your life. Sad story indeed.
You have to pull the trigger while holding down the takedown lever to disassemble those things...

1-Why was it loaded???

2-Why did he have it pointed at himself???

Then I've been doing it wrong for a LONG time
Thanks for the input. I have never handled a Glock and of course if a person is careless with any gun the result can be tragic like this.

I never pull the trigger to take mine apart.
I fail to see what's so tragic about another dumbass removing himself from the gene pool. Didn't the article say the guy was 62? How does one make it 62 years while being that stupid?
Can't field strip a Glock w/o pulling the trigger. Trigger is pulled to release the striker before you can pull down on the disassembly levers. Please, no more NDs!

Brain fart...
Maybe I have the brain fart. Sorry.:)
Stupid. Point the gun downrange and pull the trigger without a mag in it. After that it's safe to take down. How can Glock's design be blamed for idiotic people?
Some people are not so much idiots as clumsy and absent-minded . Also, some people have never been trained in a formal, no nonsense fashion and have developed bad habits .

If you see someone doing it wrong, consider telling him in a kind way, " You are not handling that gun safely and I don't want you to get hurt someday. May I show you how to do that ? "

Maybe we should carry a copy of Cooper's 4 rules to hand out as a sort of " warning ticket " .
