My buddy is considering on getting a g 23. Either gen 3 or 4. Any opinions?
I'd get the Gen 4, in fact I did. Nothing wrong with the Gen 3 but the Gen 4's multiple grip backstraps and other features are worth the slight cost increase especially since you get 3 instead of 2 magazines in the red label box. Either way the G23 is a great gun, the right size for many of us and 40S&W is great caliber. 9mm is cheaper to shoot but then you can get a 40-9 conversion barrel for about $100, add 9mm magazines and have both calibers.
Oh and I took him to a local gun store to check out a 23. And I had to show the guy behind the counter how to take the glock apart. Kinda funny I thought
Agree! I got the 19. And wanting to get the 23 too.
Did this with my gen 3 23, I think a g23 is the way to go best of both worlds.... I have had not one problem.
I have the Gen4 23 and love it shoots like a dream and is very easy to carry, its a great weapon thats for sure,
I just got my G23 Gen 4 2 days ago and I must say that I'm already a believer. I tried to stay away from glock because I said they were ugly and everybody had glocks. I have a Taurus PT740, a Ruger SR40c and just recently a G23 Gen4 and it's already my favorite gun to shoot.
Glocks perform. Cleans easily. You can get different barrels unless you get the G19. Then, your limited to 9mm. G23 is a great choice. I have the G32 carried as a .40. Outdoors/wilderness it goes back to .357 sig.
Glocks are one of the easiest guns to dismantle. The guy behind the counter should find another source of work.
G 23 My new fav.
I picked up used gen2 mod23. After being a "wheel guy for 35yrs" my first "real auto" is a bit of a culture shock. I am very very happy and am going to pick up a nine-mil bbl asap, just for the price of ammo.
Your first and last sentences cooled my anger. Hahah j/k man. Congrats with it.
I own a gen 3 and love it. Seems like the perfect Glock in my Opinion.
I have owned a gen 3 glock model 30 45 acp for years. It has always been a great reliable weapon to me but Recently after and only when the slide is locked back I will put in a fresh clip and release the slide by just using the slide release and the weapon fires this has happened about 4 times in the last year and I must say my confidence in glock is shaken. I know own a metro arms 1911 as well and that is now my weapon of choice to carry concealed.
WOW, thats kinda scary considering i own a G30sf too. Did you call Glock to see that could be happening?
I consulted a local gun smith and he said the problem is in the "firing pin stop". According to him this piece can get worn down and cause a misfire I'm having mine replaced hopefully it will fix the problem.
Are you sure a G19 is limited to 9mm only ? I was under the impression it was the most popular Glock model and it's only limitation was your imagination, or pocketbook ?
Yea I think he's right! You can only go down sizes and not up!!! I own a G35 .40 cal and bought the LWD 9mm conversion barrel.
Honestly do people think this way?
Glock 23, 27, 22 can be converted to 9mm.
Common sense tells you that a .40 cal barrel will not fit in a 9mm slide.
I do it all the time. The barrels have the same outer dimensions. G23 is a 40 and can nicely take 9mm barrel don't forget the mag change.
