Anyone have any ideas why these mags are crack/split ?

I've had them stored for awhile and last week when I started to load them, this is what I saw.

Have you ever taken them apart? How old are they?

With the "u" cut at the top they look like old mags that are not fully metal lined. Possibly too much tension for too long. How were they stored? Dry climate? Excessive heat? Near chemicals that would dry out the plastic? You can contact Glock. When I took my 17 back to the factory they replaced all my mags with new ones at no cost.

I guess their about 10- 12 years old, came with the gun , i bought new. I've had them stored both loaded and empty over the years, they usually sit on the top rack of a metal gun cabinet along with some ammo other mags and long guns on the bottom.

I'll contact Glock this week and see what they allow , I really don't want to buy new ones in this climate.

    Thanks !!

I would bet they will replace with no problems. Never seen that before. I suggest you erase the pic lest any 1911 guys see it!! lol

Wow, never seen that before. Did somebody try to test them by running them over in a big truck?

Just an update ....... Glock replaced both magazines with no questions asked.

Customer service was great and return shipping was really fast. (FedEx)

FYI , they said lifetime warranty on gun and 1 year on mags , but not to worry - just send em back and we'll get you some new ones out. :)

Makes me proud to own not only the G17 but also a new to me G27 :)
