I am looking into purchasing a firearm for my girlfriend's little sister for her birthday. She will be turning 20. I am loking for something VERY reliable and easily concealable (eventually). She and I have already discussed the rules and she knows she will not be allowed to conceal until she is 21. So, my question is, Who has pocket pistols? What should I contemplate purchasing? I am looking for something with minimal recoil, as she LOVES the range and plans to shoot bi-weekly. So hand cannons are out. Also, revolvers are out. Cane has a Raspberry .380..... Things along those lines. Thanks in advance

I would say think about a Ruger Elsie Arrr. The wife has one and loves it. Just sit back and watch how many Recommendations this fine little Revolver.

Or a Ruger SP101. She can shoot .38s at the range for as long as she wants, won't be a problem on an all-steel frame, and carry with .357 for extra oomph.

How bout a Kahr PM9? Grip is too thin for me but for someone like that I figure it would work out fine.

You don't want to get the Ruger Elsie Pea even in raspberry!

She would go the the range once and stick that little "hand cannon" in a drawer somewhere.

As much as I hate to say this, for shear shooting pleasure I have found a new favorite that I'm now carrying and the one that gets the most range time.

I almost forgot how much I like to shoot the Browning High Power in 9mm.

Or get her the Elsie Ahrrr.

I like my KelTec PF9. My lovely wife hates it (keeps hitting the Mag release). They sell in Anchorage for $285 and this one hasn't missed a lick yet. Except for the mag release thing. Only ***** is that the mag followers are made of soft plastic and after not to much use (to my way of thinking) fail to lock the slide back on empty mag.

well being one of the most reliable, easy to shoot, and accurate factory 9mms on earth, i don't know why it wouldn't be on the table.

and sooper easy to conceal, as well.

Glocks ergonomics are severely lacking imo. Also....the trigger safety, I hate it.

If you even consider a Glock, try a Sigma much better ergonomics. Easy on the Elsie Arrr.
