I am new to the threads and had a few questions that I hadn't seen answered on other post. I am currently a MN resident and will be moving to WI in the near future. I am looking forward to the possibilities of owning a suppressor legally. I am curious if any one has experience in getting approved in WI for a suppressor. Is it some thing that most Chief of Police will sign off on? Also is there any appeal process if you are denied? I did some foolish things in my youth (damage to property), grew up, had my records expunged and am now a legal permit holder in MN. Any input would be appreciated.

Suppressors are legal in WI. I'm not sure about the laws concerning Revocable Living Trusts in your state, but that's the route I choose. With the trust you don't have to submit the passport photos, finger prints or the CLEO sign off. If you can pass the background check to purchase a firearrm now, you should be GTG.

The trust route is good for a couple of reasons, No cleo sign off, less trouble, it is faster most of the time, and if you go the individual route you are the only one allowed to have possession of it. If it is in a trust, you AND trustee of the trust can have it.

Corp or LLC

A corporation or LLC will also eliminate the photo/LEO sign off portion of the process.

The LEO signature is NOT a permission slip, it IS certification that NO State/Local law would be violated. It MUST be accepted and reviewed and may only be returned without a signature for a Lawful Reason.
