    Group Buy for AR500 1/4" steel plates DEAL IS ON! $30 FOR 11.5" X 13.5" X 1/4"

Hey guys, I'm just trying to gauge interest for a group buy for AR500 1/4" plates 13.5" x 11.5". I had a good friend of mine recommend me them when I expressed interest in finding some good, low cost steel targets. Last time they had a group buy they sold these plates for $30 each ($10bucks off!) and offered custom cutting for a very reasonable fee. Post a reply if you are interested!

I'm going to check out the link. My first thoughts are if the thickness is enough and what shipping will cost. I've been looking for some steel silhouettes.

Group buy is a go! I believe 1/4 is good for 556 but don't use steel core. (i'm primarily gonna be using 9mm, .45 acp, 5.56, .357 sig and HOPEFULLY (if i can find agd barrel) .300 bo) at distances about 75 to 100 yards. Friend of mine got one that last group buy and I missed out. He's really happy with his plates! Not gonna miss it this time, this is the best deal price wise I've found, shipping wise and per square inch.

The only cheaper I've found is buying the plate from a steel supplier, but that entails buying by the sheet (approx $4000 per sheet) getting it cut and having holes made. Total cost was required about a $5 grand and prices were a bit better apporx $26 per 11 x13 peice. I don't want to make that kind of investment tho ><, and then trying to organized and sell what i don't want. Too much money and time and risk.

I'm sure they get better prices on metal but, they buy is bigger quantities...

I'm buying 6. You can fit up to 13 plates in one flat rate box shipping is only $11.50 (combined!)

When is the deadline? I'll probably have to use the money I set aside for milling my M&P slide. But worth it I think now that I have a few private places to shoot.

What do you mean square inches per plate? Will the overall size come in under the advertised measurements?

    I've posted on calguns.

I wonder if 1/4 is ok for 7.62x39. Any thoughts/experience?

On the website the dimensions are a bit larger like 1". The group buy is for 11.5 x 13.5.

    More tall than wide?

I'm wanting to hand the large plate as center mass w/ one of the smaller squares hanging separately as the head.

In all honesty I guess it doesnt matter all that much.

HRM.....if cut into quarters it'd be roughly 5 x 6. kind of a small head don't ya think? Maybe it can sub as just the brain pan? ;)

maybe just cut it in half? have a 6.5 by 11.5 piece to serve has a head?

Initially I thought they were 14.5 x 13 which would have made them something like 7 1/4 x 6 1/2. I think 5 1/2 by 6 1/2 minus the amount lost for the cut will work. It'll be like shooting women and children. Ok that was horrible, I take it back. Nah the humor value outweighs the bad taste.

Lol that was a slight exaggeration. The first fitted I owned was a mens size. That was during my 1st or 2nd grade year. My. 4yo son wears the last BCM hat they sent me. Lets just say Flex Fit is my ball cap of choice :).

    update:

    facts.

ordered $200+ worth of items 6/28/12

Was emailed that item were cut and will ship on 7/9.

Was emailed an apology and told on 7/26 that my items will ship immediately. He's a 2-3 days ship from me, UPS or USPS or Fedex.

8/7 after finding out on other forums that he has a history of taking peoples money and never delivering on promises I initiated a chargeback with my CC company. His phones doesn't even work either.

I hope I get my money back. I honestly don't want to do business with this man again, and have serious doubt that I would have even received the correct materials that I ordered.

How bad would it be if I ordered armor plating from this guy, that failed on me.....

Sorry I even brought this to your attention.
